Malaysian Recipe : Beef Sate

Ingredients:

  • 500g sirloin or round steak
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp five-spice powder
  • 1 tsp salt

Directions:

  1. Remove any far from the beef and but into 1/5cm dice
  2. Marinate in the garlic, soy sauce, oils, sugar, five spice powder and salt for at least one hour.
  3. Moisten pointed end of skewers and thread 3 or 4 pieces of each.
  4. Cook over glowing coals rotating continuously until cooked. Served with peanut sauce or peanut dressing.
