Malaysian Recipe : Crab Claw with Sweet Sour Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 8 crab claws
  • 500g green prawn meat
  • 2 slices ham fat
  • 3 eggs
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp sesame oil
  • ¼ cup corn flour
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Oil for deep frying

Directions:

  1. Crab claws will probably be frozen so defrost first.
  2. Mince prawn meat and ham fat together to make a fine paste.
  3. Pat the prawn mince around the meaty section of the crab claw to adhere tightly.
  4. Place on a deep plate side by side, and steam for 5 minutes. Pour off excess moisture.
  5. Beat eggs, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt together and sprinkle corn flour over crab claws, dip into beaten eggs, then into breadcrumbs.
  6. Deep-fry until golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper.
  7. Serve with sweet-sour sauce.
