Malaysian Recipe : Dhal Cakes - Vadai

Serves: 6
Ingredients:
- 240 g dhal, soaked overnight
- 2 egg yolks, slightly beaten
- 220 g prawns, shelled and chopped coarsely
- 2 large onions, chopped coarsely
- 4 red chilies, sliced finely
- 2 green chilies, sliced finely
- 1 sprig curry leaves, sliced
- 1 tsp curry powder
- 3 tbsp flour
- 1 tsp salt
- Enough oil for deep frying
Directions:
- With a food processor, blend the dhal coarsely.
- Mix all the ingredients together.
- heat oil in wok on medium heat for 5 mins, then turn down the heat.
- Shape the dhal mixture to form a flat round cake. Drop into hot oil. Deep fry till golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper.
