Malaysian Recipe : Fried Beef Curry (Microwave)

Serves 4 to 6


  • 600 g beef (thinly sliced)
  • ¼ cup yoghurt
  • 2 pips cardamom
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp brown sugar

A: (to be roasted and finely ground)

  • 1 ½ tbsp chili powder
  • 1 ½ tbsp coriander seed
  • 1 tsp cumin seed
  • 2 tsp black peppercorn
  • 1 tsp fenugreek seed


  • 50 g sliced onions
  • 15 g chopped ginger
  • 1 g cloves
  • 5 g sliced garlic
  • 5 g curry leaves
  • 5 tbsp oil


  1. Season beef slices with ingredients A for ½ hour
  2. Combine ingredients B and fry in 22cm casserole on power High for 4 ½ minutes, uncovered.
  3. Add in yoghurt, cardamoms and seasoned beef slices
  4. Cover and cook on power High for 4 minutes, then on Medium for 10 minutes.
  5. Add in sugar and salt.
  6. Standing time : 10 minutes
