Malaysian Recipe : Ikan Patin Asam Rebus Pahang

Preparation and Cooking time : 25 mins
Serves 4 to 6
Per person : 5g fat, 117 kcal (489 kilojoules)

Ingredients:

A:

  • 6 red chilies
  • 5 shallots
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 3 stalks lemon grass

B:

  • 750 ml water
  • 4 pcs tamarind skins
  • 1 stalk wild ginger flower, sliced
  • 3 sprigs 'daun kesum'
  • 1 ikan bilis stock cube (Maggi ®)
  • 1 kg ikan Patin cleaned and cut into cutlets

Directions:

  1. Combine ingredients A and blend until very fine. In a saucepan, combine ingredients A and B. Boil over medium heat for 20 minutes or until aromatic.
  2. Add fish and simmer for 10 minutes. Add tomatoes and remove from heat.
