Indian Recipe : Indian Gooseberry Chutney

Ingredients:
- 1 kg Indian gooseberries
- 250 g powdered salt
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 2 tsp oil
Seasoning:
- 1 tsp mustard
- ½ tsp fenugreek seeds
- A pinch of asafetida
- 4 red chilies
- 4 green chilies
Directions:
- Clean and coarsely pound the gooseberries. Remove the seeds.
- Mix the pounded gooseberries with salt and turmeric powder till well combined. This mixture can be stored in an airtight jar but it is not edible.
- Whenever the chutney is to be served, take 1 cup of the mixture, heat the oil and fry the seasoning ingredients.
- Grind the fried ingredients and the coarsely pounded gooseberries until a fine paste is obtained.
