Malaysian Recipe : Otak-Otak Ikan Melaka

Preparation and cooking time: 30 min
Serves 8 to 10
Per person : 9g fat, 146 kcal (611 kilojoules)
Ingredients:
- 300 g prawns, shelled
- 6 shallots
- 5 candlenuts (buah keras)
- 2 stalks lemon grass
- 6 dried chilies, soaked
- 2 cm fresh turmeric
- 1 kg fish meat, cut into cubes
- 1 cup thick coconut milk
- 6 eggs
- 1 Ikan Bilis Stock Cube (Maggi)
- Salt to taste
- 10 pcs banana leaves, blanched
- 10 pcs 'daun kaduk'
- 20 toothpicks
Directions:
- Finely blend ingredients A. Stir in fish meat, coconut milk, eggs, ikan bilis stock cube and salt to taste.
- Take two tbsp of the mixture, place it in banana leaves and cover with 'daun kaduk' leaves.
- Wrap it like a 'tapai', secure the edges with toothpicks.
- Place in a hot steamer and steam for 10 minutes. Remove from steamer and serve hot.
