Malaysian Recipe : Rice with Seafood Topping

This is a one-dish meal

Serves 1 or 2


  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 medium-size onion, sliced
  • 1 tsp garlic, chopped
  • 1 large red chili, pounded
  • 12g squid (sliced), seasoned with fish, salt and pepper
  • 15g fish fillet (sliced), seasoned with fish sauce, salt and pepper
  • 15g fresh shrimps, seasoned with fish sauce, salt and pepper
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce
  • 10g young corn
  • 10 g green pepper, sliced
  • 10g snow peas
  • 20g cauliflower, cut into flowerets
  • 15g tomatoes, sliced
    10g chili, sliced


  1. Heat oil in wok or fry pan. Fry onions, garlic and pounded chili.
  2. Add seasoned squid, fish fillet and shrimps.
  3. Stir fry for 4 to 6 minutes and then add all vegetables. Cover pan and cook over medium heat for 5 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Pour over rice just before serving.

Please note that water can be added to make more sauce but not more than 3 to 4 tablespoons.
