Chinese Recipe : Sesame Deep Fried Beef
|

Ingredients:
- 250 g beef fillet
- ¼ tsp baking soda
- Few drops of liquid meat tenderizer
- 2 tbsp water
- 2 tbsp cornflour, blended
- Oil for deep frying
- 2 tbsp lightly toasted sesame seeds
Sauce:
- 2 tsp oil
- 1 ½ tsp finely chopped garlic
- 1 ½ tsp finely chopped ginger
- 1 tbsp Chinese rice wine
- 1 tsp black soy sauce
- 1 tsp black rice vinegar
- 2 tsp sugar
- ¼ tsp white pepper powder
- ½ cup chicken stock
- 2 tsp cornflour, mixed with water
Directions:
- Cut the beef into slices 1 cm thick, then place on a chopping board and flatten with the side of a cleaver until 0.5 cm thick.
- Put in a bowl and sprinkle with baking soda, meat tenderizer and water.
- Massage with the hand for 30 seconds, then add blended cornflour and massage for another 30 seconds. Drain meat and set aside.
- Heat oil and deep fry the beef slices for 2-3 minutes until crisp and golden. Drain and set aside.
- Make the sauce by heating the oil and stir frying garlic and ginger for a few seconds.
- Add all the sauce ingredients, except cornflour, and heat through.
- Thicken with cornflour, add the beef and mix well to coat the beef with sauce.
- Serve immediately sprinkled with sesame seeds.
