Chinese Recipe : Stir Fry Beef with Snow Peas

Serves 4 to 6

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb tenderloin beef, sliced thinly
  • 3 ½ oz snow peas
  • 3 ½ oz button mushrooms, sliced
  • 3 ½ oz bamboo shoots, sliced
  • ¼ cup oil
  • 2 oz ginger slices

Marinade sauce:

  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp Chinese wine or beef stock
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • ½ tsp sugar
  • 3 tbsp water

Seasoning:

  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • ½ tsp cornstarch
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • ½ tsp sugar
  • 3 tbsp water

Directions:

  1. Marinade beef with sauce and set aside for 10 minutes. Then, add 1 tbsp oil and mix (this will help the meat to separate well during cooking)
  2. Heat oil in a hot wok. Stir fry meat until almost cooked. Dish and drain.
  3. With 2 tbsp oil, fry ginger till it's fragrant. Put in the rest of the ingredients and quickly stir fry. Add beef and seasoning. Give it a quick stir and dish up. Serve hot.
