Chinese Recipe : Sliced Eel with Garlic Hearts

Garlic-hearts can be substituted with chives, and eel with sliced chicken

Ingredients:

  • 190 g garlic-hearts (sectioned)
  • 228 g frozen eel-slices
  • 1 small carrot (cut into small strips)
  • 2 slices of ginger
  • 2 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp Shaoxing wine

Seasoning:

  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • dash of pepper
  • 1/2 tsp corn starch
  • 2 tsp soy sauce

Thickening:

  • 1/2 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 Tbsp cold water

Directions:

  1. Mix thawed eel with seasoning. Deep-fry for a little while and set aside.
  2. Stir-fry garlic-hearts and carrots with cooking oil, salt, and water until cooked; dish up and set aside.
  3. Sauté ginger and minced garlic; add garlic-hearts, carrots, and eel, mix in thickening, stir-fry with a Shaoxing wine. Ready to serve.
