Chinese Recipe : Soy Sauce Chicken
Ingredients:
One (675g / 1.5 lb) chicken
3 slices ginger
2 stalks spring onion (sectioned)
1 tsp Lee Kum Kee Sesame Oil
Seasoning:
1.5 cups Chicken Marinade (Lee Kum Kee Brand) or Soy Sauce (if soy sauce is used, add 2 Tablespoons sugar to it)
1.5 cups water
Directions:
Clean chicken and pat dry.
Sauté ginger and spring onion with 1 Tbsp oil till fragrant. Add seasoning mix and bring it to the boil.
Put in chicken, cover and cook in low heat. Turn over the chicken every 5 minutes until deep brown (about 20 minutes).
Sprinkle in sesame oil. Cover and cook for 5 more minutes. Turn off the heat and poach for another 5 minutes.
Drain and cut chicken into pieces. Pour some cooking sauce over chicken and serve.
