Chinese Recipe : Stewed Chinese Cabbage and Mushrooms

This is a vegetarian dish.
Serves 4:
Ingredients:
- 1 lb Chinese cabbage, cut into 1 x 2-inch pieces
- 3 dried Chinese mushrooms, soaked in hot water, drained and sliced (save the ½ cup mushroom water)
- 4 tbsp oil
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
- A pinch of MSG (optional)
Directions:
- Heat the oil in a wok, and add the salt. Stir frying the mushrooms. Add the Chinese cabbage and stir fry again.
- Add the soy sauce, sugar and the mushroom water. Cover and cook for 10 minutes over moderate heat. There should be very little liquid left. If there is too much, boil over high heat until the liquid is reduced. Season with MSG.
