Chinese Recipe - Stir Fried Lettuce with Oyster Sauce

This is a Southern Chinese recipe
Ingredients:

2 heads Romaine lettuce

2 tbsps oil
-
2 garlic cloves, minced

2 tsps dry sherry
-
1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp sugar

2 tbsps oyster sauce, or soy sauce
Directions:
- Separate the lettuce into leaves and break into 2 inch pieces

Heat the oil in a pan and add the garlic, sherry, salt, sugar and then the lettuce leaves. Cover and cook for 1 minute.

Drain the lettuce and arrange on a serving dish. Pour the oyster sauce (or soy sauce) on top of the lettuce and serve hot as a main dish, or cold as a salad.
Note: Broccoli or Chinese cabbage (bok choy) may be used in place of the lettuce.
