International Recipe : Cabbage Chowder

Serves 4 to 6

Ingredients:

  • 200 g spinach leaves, washed and chopped
  • 1 small onion, finely sliced
  • 1 tomato, chopped
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 4 cups water
  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder
  • ½ can cream style corn
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

  1. Mix first 7 ingredients in a pan and boil for 5 minutes. Remove and set aside, covered for 5 minutes. Blend.
  2. Bring back to heat and boil.
  3. Add corn, salt and pepper.
  4. Bring to boil again, stirring continuously.
  5. Remove from heat.
  6. Serve hot in soup bowls.
  7. Dot with cream and sprinkle some bread crumbs.
