International Recipe : Spaghetti Balls


  • 2 cups boiled spaghetti
  • 2 cups milk
  • 5 tbsp plain flour
  • 5 tbsp butter
  • 4 green chillies, finely chopped
  • 150 g cheddar cheese, grated
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh coriander
  • 3 stalks celery, finely chopped
  • 100 g breadcrumbs
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • 1 ½ tea cup flour


  1. Melt butter in a heavy saucepan. Add plain flour and cook for a minute to form a light roux.
  2. Add milk and continue cooking, stirring constantly until mixture thickens.
  3. Remove from heat and cool.
  4. Add spaghetti, coriander, chillies, celery, cheese and salt.
  5. Mix well and shape in small round balls.
  6. Mix flour in 2 cups water to form paste.
  7. Dip spaghetti balls in paste, coat with breadcrumbs.
  8. Deep fry in hot oil until golden brown.
  9. Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
