Indian Recipe : Kadhai Chicken

Serves 4
Preparation time: 30 minutes
Cooking time: 30 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1kg chicken, cut into 2 pieces
  • ½ cup oil
  • 4 tsp garlic paste
  • 6-8 red chili, pounded coarsely
  • 1 kg tomatoes, blanched and chopped
  • 3 2/3 tbsp ginger, chopped
  • 2 green chilies, sliced
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ cup red and green bell peppers
  • 1 tsp garam masala

Directions:

  1. heat oil in a wok, sauté garlic paste and red chilies, add tomatoes and cook for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Add ginger, sliced green chilies and salt, cook on medium heat for 3-5 minutes.
  2. Add chicken pieces and cook till the curry becomes thick and the chicken tender.
  3. Stir in the red-green peppers and garam masala. Cover and cook for 5 to 7 minutes. Serve hot, accompanied by any Indian bread.
